Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight gets a launch date
Nov 12th
Forget Modern Warfare 2, the real action is coming out on March 16 when C&C 4 is released. Teasers and trailers have been slowly filtering out over the last few months but EA finally let released the launch date. I’m already making my construction paper chain to count down the days. Oh, and there’s good news if you’re going to pre-order the game.

Flash Vulnerability Found, Adobe Says No Fix Forthcoming
Nov 12th
The basic policy for Actionscript is very close to the Javascript same-origin policy: A Flash object can only access content from the domain it originated from. There are exceptions, which I’ll get into another time, but they actually aren’t particularly important. This flash behavior is known and documented, but is not particularly well-understood, even within the Web Application Security community. The important difference, of course, is that flash objects are not web pages. A flash object does not need to be injected into a web page to execute- simply loading the content is enough. Let’s consider the implications of this policy for a moment: If I can get a Flash object onto your server, I can execute scripts in the context of your domain.

MPAA Shuts Down Town’s Municipal WiFi Over 1 Download
Nov 12th
“The MPAA has successfully shut down an entire town’s municipal WiFi because a single user was found to be downloading a copyrighted movie. Rather than being embarrassed by this gross example of collective punishment (a practice outlawed in the Geneva conventions) against Coshocton, OH, the MPAA’s spokeslizard took the opportunity to cry poor (even though the studios are bringing in record box-office and aftermarket receipts).”
